Museumsuferfest - Frankfurt am Main - 29.-31.08.2014

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Museum Embankment Festival 2014!

During this three-day event, Frankfurt pays tribute to its magnificent museum landscape and majestic waterway with a unique combination of culture and the arts, music, dance, theatre and cuisine. Held directly on the banks of the River Main in the heart of the city, with Frankfurt’s impressive skyline ever-present in the background, the festival annually attracts some three million visitors. Superb museum programmes, countless stage presentations and colourful live performances combine to ensure the Museum Embankment Festival ranks amongst Europe’s largest cultural celebrations.

While the participating museums keep their doors open well into the night, the action continues down at the riverside, with revellers singing, dancing, wining and dining under starry skies. The range of culinary delicacies on offer is immense, as are the countless varieties of bands, dance ensembles, clubs and artists performing on the festival’s many stages.

Holders of the special Museum Embankment Festival button, which is available for a mere € 7.00, have free admission to all participating museums for the duration of the festival. The buttons are available at the museums and the Tourist Information Offices Römerberg and Main Train Station.

Aside from the myriad culinary offerings available on the banks of the River Main, you’ll also find countless artisans displaying their latest creations.

Finland is the official theme country of this year’s Museum Embankment Festival. The “land of a thousand lakes” is one of the world’s northernmost countries and home to a great cultural diversity. Here, western and eastern cultures come together in an interesting and harmonious blend.

We hope you’ll enjoy your time at the Museum Embankment Festival 2014.
