The wit and charm of DIE ÄRZTE, the energy and enthusiasm of DIE TOTEN HOSEN: combining these ingredients into an explosive rock show, bringing together the best of both worlds—that’s Alex Im Westerland’s mission! The four musicians from Frankfurt rock their way through clubs, festivals, city festivals, pub festivals, and private parties all year round. They focus on the best-known and biggest hits from the past 30 years of these two punk rock legends’ history, though new releases are, of course, regularly added to the setlist as well.
The euphorically celebrated finalists of Germany’s biggest cover band contest, “Hessen Rockt,” don’t play idiosyncratic cover versions, but rather the original songs with confident authenticity and attention to detail—including four-part harmonies and guitar solos faithful to the originals. At the same time, Alex Im Westerland succeeds in engaging the audience with humor and unbridled energy, making them an integral part of the show.
