The main area of the Museumsuferfest is situated on both banks of the Main, between the Holbeinsteg and the Eiserner Steg. In addition, museums, institutions and churches around the Römerberg and in the city centre are taking part in the festival with their own programmes. The venues for the Museumsuferfest are therefore centrally located in Frankfurt and are easily accessible via various stops by bus, tram or underground.
We strongly recommend travelling by public transport.
Anyone coming to the Museumsuferfest by bike will find a convenient parking facility on the south bank: the Bike Area offers secure bike parking on Sachsenhäuser Ufer, right by the Main opposite the Liebieghaus, near the Holbeinsteg.
The Bike Area is staffed daily from the start of the event until 9.00 pm. After that, it is unstaffed, but bikes can still be collected.

Please note: For the safety of all guests, cycling, e-scooters, skateboards, Segways and similar vehicles are not permitted on the festival grounds.

During the event weekend, some routes will run for longer and, from the evening onwards, more frequently, using larger vehicles, so you can easily get to the Museumsuferfest.

Coming from the Hauptbahnhof, take tram lines 10/11/12/14 to reach the main stops on the northern bank of the Main (Untermainkai):
By changing at Willy-Brandt-Platz station to lines U1/U2/U3/U8, you can travel towards Schweizer Platz (southern bank of the Main).
If you’re coming from Südbahnhof, please use tram lines 15/16 to reach the main stops on the southern bank of the Main (Schaumainkai):
or take the U1, U2, U3 or U8 underground lines to ‘Willy-Brandt-Platz’ station to reach the northern bank of the Main (Untermainkai).
The Museumsuferfest has been designed to be as accessible as possible. Our aim is to make it easier for all visitors to take part. However, due to its city-centre location, there may be occasional barriers, such as cobblestones or kerbs.
Accessible toilet units are available at all locations with portable toilets (except Dixi toilets).
The participating museums provide comprehensive information about their services and accessibility for people with mobility, hearing, visual or cognitive impairments. This includes information on step-free access to entrances, lifts and toilet facilities; tactile guidance systems and tactile objects; hearing aids such as induction loops; and special guided tours and educational programmes.

For a one-off fee of €7.00, the button gives you free entry to all participating museums during the festival. The offer is valid from Friday 28 August 2026, from 3.00 pm, up to and including Sunday 30 August 2026.
You can purchase the badge directly at the participating museums, at the Tourist Information FrankfurtRheinMain information tent on the north bank near the Eiserner Steg, at the Tourist Information Office Römer or at the Tourist Information New Old Town.

A refreshing break amidst the festivities: at the northern end of the Eiserner Steg footbridge, next to the Frankfurter Wirtshaus, a bright blue drinking fountain invites visitors to top up their water bottles for free.
Under the slogan “Thirsty? Enjoy some good drinking water!”, the fountain ensures that visitors to the Museumsuferfest stay hydrated – sustainably, easily and right on the banks of the Main.
Until the end of the event, lost property will be collected at the event office (DLRG station/north side) and kept there for collection. After that, it will be handed over to the 8th Police Station (Offenbacher Landstr. 29).

Yes. The musical closing fireworks will take place on Sunday, 30.08.2026 at 10:00 pm between the Holbeinsteg and the Untermainbrücke.

We know that many visitors would like to bring their dogs along. However, we would like to point out that the festival grounds, with their large crowds and loud background noise, can be very stressful and unpleasant for dogs. In the interests of your four-legged friend’s wellbeing, we strongly recommend leaving them at home, where they can relax. That way, you can enjoy the festival to the full without subjecting your dog to an uncomfortable and stressful experience.
No, smoking cannabis is not permitted at the Museum Embankment Festival.
The Museumsuferfest is designed to be as accessible as possible. We make every effort to ensure that as many people as possible can attend. However, due to its location in the city centre, some obstacles – such as cobblestones or kerbs – cannot be completely avoided.

However, there are parking areas available for bicycles and e-scooters, for example at the Bike Point (on the south bank near Hohlbeinsteg) or in front of the Historical Museum. Riding bicycles, e-scooters, skateboards, Segways and similar vehicles on the festival grounds is not permitted.
