The main area of the Museum Embankment Festival is situated on both banks of the Main, between the Holbeinsteg and the Eiserner Steg. In addition, museums, institutions and churches around the Römerberg and in the city centre are taking part in the festival with their own programmes. The venues for the Museumsuferfest are therefore centrally located in Frankfurt and are easily accessible via various stops by bus, tram or underground.

We strongly recommend travelling by public transport.

The Museumsuferfest has been designed to be as accessible as possible. Our aim is to make it easier for all visitors to take part. However, due to its city-centre location, there may be occasional barriers, such as cobblestones or kerbs.

For a one-off fee of €7.00, the button gives you free entry to all participating museums during the festival. The offer is valid from Friday 28 August 2026, from 3.00 pm, up to and including Sunday 30 August 2026.

You can purchase the badge directly at the participating museums, at the Tourist-Information FrankfurtRheinMain information tent on the north bank near the Eiserner Steg, at the Tourist Office Römer or at the Tourist Office New Old Town.

Please note that children aged 6 and over require a wristband, although admission is free for children and young people up to the age of 18 at the following museums:
Frankfurt Archaeological Museum, BIMU Bible House Experience Museum, Caricatura Museum Frankfurt, Crespo Open Space, German Architecture Museum (DAM), German Museum of Culinary Arts and Dining Culture, DFF – German Film Institute & Film Museum, Frankfurt Cathedral Museum, Frankfurt Historical Museum, Icon Museum, Institute for the History of Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt Jewish Museum and Golden Applel, Young Museum Frankfurt, MGGU – Giersch Museum at Goethe University, MOMEM [Museum of Modern Electronic Music], Museum of Applied Arts, Museum Judengasse, Struwwelpeter Museum, TOWER MMK – MMK Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt Museum of World Cultures.

A refreshing break amidst the festivities: at the northern end of the Eiserner Steg footbridge, next to the Frankfurter Wirtshaus, a bright blue drinking fountain invites visitors to top up their water bottles for free. 

Under the slogan “Thirsty? Enjoy some good drinking water!”, the fountain ensures that visitors to the Museumsuferfest stay hydrated – sustainably, easily and right on the banks of the Main.

Until the end of the event, lost property will be collected at the event office (DLRG station/north side) and kept there for collection. After that, it will be handed over to the 8th Police Station (Offenbacher Landstr. 29).
