Diverse projects

at the Museumsuferfest

In addition to the stage and museum program, various projects enrich the Museumsuferfest with their own focuses. The Antiquariatsmeile presents selected books and media. In the Poet’s Corner, readings, music, and images come together. The Abenteuerspielplatz Riederwald brings movement and creativity to the family program with a playmobile, craft activities, an inflatable bouncer, a roller slide, and other offerings. The Orgel- und Chormeile combines musical contributions in various Frankfurt churches. “Klang im Kloster” offers short concerts in the historic Karmeliterkloster. At the Drachenbootwettkampf on the Main, teams compete against each other in exciting races – shaped by team spirit, coordination, and athletic commitment.

Dragon boat races

In the dragon boat race on the Main, the teams compete in exciting races. The competition stands for team spirit, coordination and athletic commitment and has always been a part of the Museumsuferfest. Following the final races, the award ceremonies take place on the Sport- und Kulturweltbühne.

Choir and Organ Mile

When, during the Museumsuferfest, music resounds not only along the banks of the Main but also in Frankfurt’s city-centre churches, it is time for the traditional Chor- und Orgelmeile. On 29. and 30.08.2026, the churches will once again invite guests to their popular promenade concerts. Visitors can stroll from church to church, discover impressive sacred spaces and listen to high-calibre organ and choral music.

On Saturday, 29.08.2026, organ concerts are on the programme between 15:00 and 21:00, followed by choral concerts on Sunday, 30.08.2026, between 16:00 and 20:00. A concert lasting around 30 minutes begins on the hour, after which there is time to make your way to the next stop. In this way, the Chor- und Orgelmeile combines musical diversity with a stroll through Frankfurt’s city centre and the special flair of the Museumsuferfest. Admission to all concerts is free.

Klang im Kloster

Klang im Kloster once again invites visitors to a musical oasis in the heart of Frankfurt. In the historic refectory of the Karmeliterkloster, the city’s only preserved medieval monastery complex, short, impressive 30-minute concerts will be performed during the Museumsuferfest. On both days, international musicians span a wide arc across eras and styles – from medieval sounds and Baroque virtuosity to colourful musical discoveries of the 18th century. Amid Jörg Ratgeb’s impressive wall paintings, visitors experience a special atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle of the festival – a place where music and history merge in a unique way.

Abenteuerspielplatz Riederwald e.V.

The play mile of Abenteuerspielplatz Riederwald e. V. brings plenty of movement, creativity and good cheer to the Main at the Museumsuferfest. The play mobile invites children to romp around, try things out and join in to their heart’s content. It includes, among other things, a bouncy castle, a roller slide, a painting stand, a bungee trampoline, face painting and a children’s carousel. Whether young artists, brave climbing fans or carousel lovers: there is plenty for young visitors to discover along the play mile. A varied offering for families that makes a visit to the festival a special experience.

Poet's Corner

Poet's Corner on Schaumainkai, at the level of the Liebieghaus, is a meeting place for literature, music and art during the Museumsuferfest. Here, readings, musical contributions and artistic impulses invite visitors to linger, listen and take part. Authors, musicians and literature groups from Frankfurt and the region present a varied programme on all three event days – from poetry and prose to chansons and musical performances. The open atmosphere makes Poet's Corner a special place for encounters and exchange away from the hustle and bustle of the festival. The programme is organised by Farben International e. V. and realised with the support of the Literaturrat Hessen.

Antiquarian Book Street

In keeping with the exhibition "Multispezies Members Club. Neue Allianzen zwischen lebendigen und künstlichen Systemen" at MGGU – Museum Giersch der Goethe-Universität, the dealers of the Antiquariatsmeile are presenting books and media on sustainability, ecology and the relationships between humans, animals, plants and technology. The selected works invite visitors to further explore the questions raised by the exhibition from literary, scientific and historical perspectives and to discover new perspectives on our coexistence. The Antiquariatsmeile is generously supported by STIFTUNG GIERSCH.
