Live Music with the Stefan Spielberger Band
In the “Easy like a Sunday Morning” program, the musicians of the Stefan Spielberger Band will gather at the Museumsuferfest to pay tribute to big names like Lionel Richie, Al Jarreau, Frank Sinatra, and a few others.
Stefan Spielberger, Jochen Engel, Peter Koch, Thomas Humm, Thomas Wille, and Matthias Schwappacher will complement these great songs with standards from the Great American Songbook and conjure up a swing club atmosphere along the Main River.
The “One-Man Rat Pack,” Stefan Spielberger, is the musical soulmate of Ol’ Blue Eyes, with a rich life full of experiences in various ensembles, such as the big bands of HR and the German Armed Forces. He has worked with outstanding musicians such as Caterina Valente, Paul Kuhn, and Günther Noris, to name just a few of the countless others. His vocal talents have earned him not only the Bundeswehr Medal of Honor, presented by Defense Minister Volker Rühe, but also honorary citizenship of El Paso, Texas. As “Chairman of the Board,” he leads the band in creating a truly special atmosphere.
Jochen Engel on saxophones is known in the Rhine-Main region, among other things, as the bandleader of the nationally broadcast television show “Mainz bleibt Mainz” and will be blowing his horns along the Main without a hint of pretension.
Peter Koch on trumpet and keyboard once got Wencke Myhre, among others, up to speed and, together with the saxophone, will really make some noise as the horn section on the Main.
Thomas Humm from the Rhineland-Palatinate State Police Orchestra on piano, the outspoken Berliner Thomas Wille on bass, and Matthias Schwappacher on drums lay the solid foundation of this swinging combo, allowing their fellow musicians to get into the groove and take flight toward jazz and pop.
