NdaNane Percussion on the live stage at Metzlerpark

On the stage in Metzlerpark, live bands and DJs will treat visitors to a diverse musical lineup. This year, the festival brings together the best of Frankfurt’s music scene with special program highlights. Among the performers is the traditional West African drum and performance collective NdaNane Percussion.

NdaNane Percussion is a traditional West African drum and performance collective led by Senegalese percussionist and singer Khadim Seck. As a long-standing part of Frankfurt’s interconnected underground and cultural scene, the collective brings the energy of Senegalese musical traditions into contemporary German artistic and cultural contexts. At the heart of their music is the sabar, a traditional drum from Senegal that historically also served as a complex means of communication between villages. Today, the collective uses these multifaceted, fast and powerful rhythms to create ecstatic, physical moments of dance.
