TOYBOYS
Don't worry, they just want to play. After a year of focusing on what really matters (locked away in the rehearsal room with a tape recorder), TOYBOYS are making noise again on the stages of this sad version of a dignified world. But not all hope is lost. Amid the melancholy, the will to strive for more keeps breaking through. A sense that “this can’t be the end of it” persists despite all the pain of unfulfilled dreams. And that’s palpable in the trio’s music: from post-punk to ’90s alt-rock, they freely draw on moments of—no longer quite so youthful—feelings of inner rebellion against a world that’s falling apart.
